People - Transformational Goals for APS Instruction

The APS 2020 Strategic Plan provides the framework to achieve our vision that: Every student shapes a successful future. We achieve this vision through our mission:  In partnership with our community, we accelerate learning for all students to develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to shape successful futures.

The quality of a student's instruction has the largest effect on his/her achievement and continually improving every staff member's effectiveness is a priority in our district. We believe that the achievement of each and every student can be brought to the highest level through the following transformational goals:

  • Ensure all employees are highly qualified and skilled for their positions
  • Develop and nurture a professional culture of leadership, integrity and creativity throughout the district

Aurora Public Schools Professional Learning seeks to provide every educator with opportunities to become an even more effective agent for success for our students. By promoting opportunities for study within our own district, through universities in our area, and through online learning, we seek to match our talented staff with professional learning experiences that will transform their instruction.
